Poland’s smog-combating efforts in 2017

Due to its constant poor air quality indicators, Poland has garnered the dubious distinction of "Europe's capital of smog".
As the problem is getting more and more serious, Polish decision-makers look to counteract the phenomenon. On Thursday Poland’s Environment Ministry officials took a look back on their smog–combating efforts in 2017.
“We are implementing ahead of time what will be binding all across the EU in two years. [Coal stove] legislation is being introduced [in Poland] 24 months ahead of similar EU regulations,” deputy environment minister Paweł Sałek said.
